Mould King 27066 Ferrari F50 — Pure F1 Technology for the Road, No Compromises
The Ferrari F50 was born from a radical idea: take a Formula 1 engine, put it in a carbon fiber road car, and strip away every electronic aid. No power steering, no ABS, no traction control — just 512 horsepower of naturally aspirated V12 connected directly to the driver. This 352-piece model captures Ferrari's purest supercar.
The Real Machine
Celebrating Ferrari's 50th anniversary in 1995, the F50 took the most direct approach to F1 technology transfer ever attempted. Its 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 was derived from the 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car's engine — detuned from 13,500 rpm to 8,500 rpm for road legality but retaining the F1 unit's exotic construction and screaming character. The engine was bolted directly to the carbon fiber monocoque chassis as a stressed structural member — exactly like a Formula 1 car. In an era when competitors were adding electronic aids, Ferrari deliberately removed them: no power steering, no ABS, no power brakes. The message was clear: this car trusted the driver. Only 349 were produced before production ended in July 1997. The F50 was overshadowed by the F40 before it and the Enzo after it, but many now consider it the purest driver's Ferrari ever made — the one that came closest to putting F1 technology directly in your hands.
