Its 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 was derived from the 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car's engine — detuned from 13,500 rpm to 8,500 rpm for road legality but retaining the F1 unit's exotic construction and screaming character. The engine was bolted directly to the carbon fiber monocoque chassis as a stressed structural member — exactly like a Formula 1 car.
